Tournament fees and Winnings

How much are the tournament fees?

Tournament fees are based on the green fees including course local taxes plus the $30 that goes into the field pot.

How are the green fee portion of the entry fee prices determined?

The green fee portion of the PGC entry fees are set by the golf courses and are determined months in advance.  Our entry fees will be within $2 - $4 of the posted green fee on the golf courses website and will include any local taxes, golf specific taxes, cc fees, tournament fees, etc and will very rarely be the exact price listed on the courses website.  If you happen to notice a difference of more than $5 please advice the PGC tournament staff and we will check into it and make sure there are no mistakes.

Can I pay for my own green fee or use a free round/gift card at a tournament?

Golf courses have differnet rules when booking tee times in advance and for groups lager than 16 players and because of this they  1) make us place a deposit, 2) notify us that no coupons, free rounds, discounts, etc may be used and 3) have it set up in thier system for us to pay for the all players in the tournament when we arrive.

How many people win?

100% of the pot goes to the players and 50% of the field will be paid based on even numbered field sizes.

How do I spend my winnings?

Winnings can be spent at any of the 5 Pro Golf Discount locations located throughout the Puget Sound.  You can contact any Pro Golf Discount store for an update on your account.

When will my winnings be available to spend?

All winnings will be available the Wednesday following a tournament.  Winnings accumulate and do not expire if a player is wanting to save up for bigger purchases.

What is the difference between "points" and winnings?

Points are earned throughout the season - by participating and by winning - and are what is used to determine who qualifies for the end of year playoff series.  25 points is the minimum a player will earn for participation; winnings will be converted directly into points and added to the 25 particiaption points.

Will there be any side games?

Side games will be offered and are optional.  See tournament details for any sponsored side game prizes being offered.

Are there ties in PGC events?

There are NO ties in PGC events.  All tie scores will result in a scorecard playoff that will take place using the cumulative score of the back nine, then the last 6 holes, then the last 3 holes. If the players are still tied after matching the final 3 hole scores, then it goes to the #1 handicap hole on the back nine (#10 - #18) then to the #2 handicap hole on the back nine (#10 - #18) until a winner is determined. For 36-hole events, the scorecard playoff will start with the final round score and work down, if necessary, according to the above schedule.  Gross playoffs use gross scores and Net playoffs will be using Net scores to determine winner.

How many Gross and Net positions will get paid?

50% of the field will get paid however the PGC will be paying more net positions than gross. In general the top gross position in an event will be paid and then the rest of the places that will be paid will be net winners until 50% of the field is paid.

Can a player win both Gross and Net?

No.  A player can only win gross or net.  The low gross winner is determined first and then net.

Are there flights in the PGC?

Yes.  Flights will be determined by how many players and the handicap spread of the players that are attending an event. Flighting may not result in an equal number of players in each flight as we will be flighting according to handicap index.

Do I have to play from the back tees if I am over 55 and my index puts me in the back tee flight?

If you are 55 or older and your handincap index is higher than a 5.0 you may play in the forward tee flight but you must give a minimum of 24 hours notice of your intention as to which flight you would like to play in.
